This original 1890's residence holds a host of historical treasures and has many tales to tell, now offering five cosy rooms to suit all tastes
The Cobbled Courtyard has been nestled in the Northumberland town of Berwick since its establishment within the 1890’s, and is surrounded by the famous Elizabeth Walls.
The building gains its unique original shape due to an ancient carriage company finding it difficult manoeuvring around the street, therefore the previously named ‘Rose and Thistle’ was ordered to shed the building corner in 1913.
The hotel features a bar with restaurant and is open everyday to serve a hearty selection of delicious dishes. The restaurant was a previous favoured drinking haunt for WW1 soldiers and has since witnessed many changes.
The residence features five guestrooms including a special en suite partially adapted for the use of guests with disabilities. We also offer business style suites or family rooms that maintain a cosy cot for babies. Each comfortable room contains the facilities expected from a holiday home, including Freeview TV with DVD player, hot drink facilities, ironing facilities and fluffy towels.
