Previously a popular public house, Brittania is now a treasured self-catered holiday home, visited again and again by contented guests.
The residence was renovated to the highest standard benefiting from a fantastic en suite, spacious double, twin and bunk rooms and an array of charming period features.
Whether you’re searching for a base for a short recreational retreat, or a romantic break away, Britannia is ideal for all tastes. A crackling open fire, original oak beams and village green views guarantee a friendly, warm, fuzzy feeling upon entering the property.
The residence was first recorded in 1792 on the oldest existing map of Holy Island. Evidence suggests that the house name originated from one of three ships that still lie as wrecks close to the Farne Island shores. It is believed a local resident foraged and recovered the ship’s name plaque and used it as the pub sign. A replica of the inn sign still hangs above the entrance.
