A warm welcome to Baileygate House, a stunning self-catering holiday home set in the heart of the medieval Alnwick. Based just a short walk from the castle and Alnwick Gardens, this recently restored residence is ideal for tourists, families and friends who are hoping to explore this enchanting British town or the rich coast and country surroundings, including Hadrian’s Wall.
Nestled in the quiet street of Bailiffgate, the house is superbly located just minutes from the western tower entrance to Alnwick Castle. The 18th century residence dates back to 1769 and maintains a colourful history having previously being occupied by tradesmen, millers and a convent home for over the 240 years. The house was also formerly an asset of the Duke of Northumberland’s estate.
The interior has been tastefully modernised using contemporary furnishings yet each well appointed room still retains original beams and inglenook fireplaces, offering both comfort and charm. Those who love the countryside will love this elegant, rustic retreat.
